Profile of the Commodity Exchange
The Czech Moravian Commodity Exchange Kladno (CMKB) has been in operation for two decades in the Czech Republic as an organiser of Stock Markets for energy, industrial and agricultural commodities. It represents a central market place for trading in electricity and natural gas to end customers and as a central market place for trading in timber.
The use of the Commodity Exchange trading system, based on the Stock Exchange rules, practices and algorithms, creates a safe environment for the organized trading of commodities in the Czech Republic.
In those markets that the Commodity Exchange systematically administers, it defines their specific purpose, conditions and mechanisms for supporting the market and streamlines the business processes for trading for the participants. These specific conditions and mechanisms include, in particular, the standardisation of the commodities and the business conditions, the aggregation of supply and demand, transparent pricing and the collection and publication of information as a price guide for the entire commodity market. Employing an equitable approach to all the participants in trading, the Commodity Exchange fulfils the requirements for the protection of competition to the highest possible degree.
